BOSTON – In a year that has defined Boston public transportation as among the worst in the entire world, sometimes you just need some good news to come out of those MBTA train lines, you know? Between derailments, cancellations, and massive delays, the MBTA has lost a lot of good faith with the community of Boston and the greater Boston area, but the lines of the MBTA are not all bad. Sometimes, fun things can happen on these trains and if you allow them to charm you, you might end up having a better day than you might have otherwise.
One particular example of this sort of moment came courtesy of a video that was shared to Reddit by user u/lifeispudding last night. It shows one Peter Parker, also known as Spider-Man, taking a ride on the MBTA's orange line.
Now, it does remain to be seen why Spider-Man would feel the need to ride a train when he can just swing throughout cities, but maybe he just wanted to hang out with the civilian population. After all, with the events of Spider-Man 2 in your mind, do you really want Spidey to be outside of your train instead of relaxing on the inside of it? That's what I thought.
This was not the first Spider-Man sighting in Massachusetts this year, however. Back in April, Spider-Man himself was seen on the campus of UMass Amherst.
It's cool that a superhero who is so tied to New York City has decided to hang out in Massachusetts from time to time.
It's been a big year for Spider-Man, too. His animated feature, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, won the Academy Award for the animated film of the year back in the winter. Then, he made a big splash in his return in Avengers: Endgame. Following this, his new live-action sequel, Spider-Man: Far From Home, became the first Spidey movie to top one billion dollars at the box office.
It's a good year to have the superpowers of an arachnid!
