Uber & MADD Team Up: Free Rides Home the Night before Thanksgiving in MA
Boston, MA - If you’re from Boston, or any surrounding city, and you’re planning to go out drinking on “Thanksgiving Eve,” rest assured knowing that Uber and MADD have your back; the two companies have teamed up this year to ensure all the Boston surrounding areas are safe from drunk drivers. The two companies recently announced that all Uber rides will be free of any charge on Wednesday, November 21, 2018.
Many Americans travel the night before Thanksgiving, mainly to get to their families for the big holiday. Almost all Americans have the nationally known holiday off, too. Put two and two together, and you have yourself a drinking holiday the night before, or so us Americans have distinguished it as. The proof to this statement is within two simple reasons:
- Alcohol sales sky-rocket on Thanksgiving Eve
- Alcohol consumption rises on Thanksgiving Eve
This is so much a true statement that even Google recognizes tomorrow as either, “Thanksgiving Eve,” or, “Blackout Wednesday.”
In response to this upcoming ‘holiday event,’ two organizations have come together to provide free Uber drives tomorrow night. MADD, or, “Mothers Against Drunk Driving,” has gotten together with Uber to make sure free rides go all night long.
According to reports supplied by MADD, there have been approximately 800 people killed in drunk driving accidents over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend between the years of 2012 and 2016. MADD wants to avoid these incidents from happening this year.
The promotion that the two companies are offering will give residents from Boston and surrounding cities the opportunity to hail a free ride between the hours of 9 p.m. on November 21 to 6 a.m. on November 22. All you have to do is enter the promotional code “SAFERIDEMA18.” Your free ride can take you anywhere for up to $15.
Availability on free rides is limited.
