Boston Celtics Lose Game 5, Dashing Hopes of a ‘Boston Slam’
After the Red Sox won the 2018 World Series, and the Patriots won Super Bowl LIII, and the Bruins and the Celtics both made it to the playoffs, some people began getting their hopes up for a Boston sweep of all national sports championships - MLB, NFL, NHL, and NBA. Millionaire Tax Proposal Moves Forward in Massachusetts
A joint session of the Massachusetts Legislature vote to move forward with a proposed state constitutional amendment that would add a four percent tax for those with annual incomes over $1 million. The earliest the amendment could be ratified by voters would be 2022. [CBS Boston]


Embarrassing Typo: The White House Welcomes the Red “Socks”
On the official website for the White House live streaming events schedule, there is an event at 3:45pm today which reads “President Trump Welcomes the 2018 World Series Champions The Boston Red Socks to the White House.” Also worth noting, most of the Red Sox who are meeting with the President today are white, with minority team members opting out due to the President’s statements about immigrants and inadequate aid to Puerto Rico, which is still recovering from 2017’s Hurricane Maria. Coyote Pup Saved by State Trooper in East Boston
After his mother was run over and killed by a car, a state trooper and a local animal rescuer saved a cute 4-week-old coyote pup near Suffolk Downs in East Boston. Lisa Cutting, local animal rescuer / hero and owner of Oceanview Kennel, said that the pup was taken to Tufts Wildlife Center in Grafton where he is doing well. [WCVB]
