Boston, MA - If you’re looking for something to do this Christmas season, head on over to the Shubert Theater located in Boston to see the Urban Nutcracker, a show that’s totally worth the twelve month wait (seeing as it only comes around for approximately 10 days every Christmas season). This years’ showing of the Urban Nutcracker will be held daily from December 20th to December 30th and tickets start as little as $28. The closer you sit to the stage, the more money you’ll pay, but isn’t that the case with all holiday shows?

If I had to describe the Urban Nutcracker in one small sentence, I’m pretty sure it would go as follows:

A classic holiday treat with an inner-city twist!

That is, due to the show being held in Boston every year.

The Urban Nutcracker will leave you in a joyful mood after seeing the combination of hip-hop stylistic dancing and ballet.

What’s more is that the local dance legend himself, Tony Williams, decided to put a spin on the original Nutcracker showing, and that’s how it became known as the Urban Nutcracker. Combining the classic holiday tale with a more modern Boston story (and a little bit of neon-buzz), Williams created the perfect mix to entertain people of all ages.

With a total of 150 performers every Christmas season, the stage and the audience go wild. The multicultural feel of the show will make everyone comfortable attending the show, and the professional ballet dancers will have everyone’s jaws dropping in awe at the beauty and perfection of the performance.

This weeks’ scheduled shows go as follows:

December 26th, 27th, and 28th: 7:00 p.m.

December 29th: 1:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

December 30th: 1:00 p.m.

So be sure to head on down to the Shubert Theater to see Ruby and her buddy the Nutcracker guide in action this holiday season. You’ll see them and their dancers dancing to different types of music, with blends of classical ballet, tap, hip hop, jazz, flamenco, and more.

Don’t be the only one that misses out on this amazing show this year!
