Taylor Swift Announces Gillette Stadium as a 2020 Tour Stop

FOXBOROUGH – As the summer of 2019 comes to an end, the summer of 2020 in New England is generating a lot of hype from people who cannot wait for their favorite season to return. For many in Massachusetts, this means the return of concert season and music lovers have a lot to look forward to in 2020.

Just last week, it was announced that Green Day, Weezer, and Fall Out Boy were joining up for a tour that would see them visit Fenway Park and, now, an even bigger concert has been announced for the state in 2020. And if you thought the Jonas Brothers' "Happiness Begins" tour was big, just wait until you see the turnout at Gillette Stadium next year.

That's right, Taylor Swift has decided that her 2020 "Lover Fest" tour stops will include Gillette Stadium in Foxborough as only one of two venues in the entire United States for the year. Obviously, Swift is not going to throw away insane amounts of money and she is probably going to visit other American cities for her tour at some point in 2021, but in terms of next year, Foxborough is one of the only two stops in the U.S.

Much of Swift's tour is slated to begin internationally in June 2020 as she visits multiple continents and numerous countries, including Germany, Brazil, and France. Her time in the U.S. is limited to "Lover Fest West," which will see two concerts at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California and "Lover Fest East" which consists of two Gillette concerts. They will be held on back to back nights on July 31 and August 1 and the crowds there will be impossibly massive.

The tour conducted by Swift will be in support of her new album, Lover, which released last month to rave reviews and immense commercial success. Personally, my favorite song from the album is "Paper Rings," but "Death by a Thousand Cuts" has been creeping up there, too.
