Success Story for Casino Encore Boston Harbor’s Two-Day Career Fair
Everett, MA– This week Encore Boston Harbor casino kicked off its two-day career fair located at the Hynes Convention Center on Monday, February 25, 2019. The casino is scheduled to open in June, but before that can happen, many areas of the casino are actively recruiting employees. According to CBS Boston, approximately 4,000 people showed up to learn about the job opportunities at the new casino.
Encore is looking to hire a little more than 5,000 people to work at the location in Everett. CBS Boston stated that the casino would like to hire its mandatory 600 employees before the grand opening in June.
It’s not just the casino that’s hiring though; other venues and local companies within the casino need to staff their businesses, too. Big Night Entertainment Group is one of those companies. They are seeking restaurant industry employees to operate an Asian fusion restaurant and a Parisian themed night club. Many candidates were considered at the job fair this week but the casino is considering holding another job fair next month, as this most recent one was a big success.
Most locations and areas of the casino are looking to hire baristas and poker dealers. Though not all applicants may have experience in the gaming industry, Encore Boston Harbor’s Casino will be educating and training applicants that have potential and seem to be a good fit for the job.
For this last job fair, many applicants claimed the interview process was laid back and relaxed, according to WBUR. After the preliminary interviews wrapped up, applicants were brought to a separate waiting room to listen to top 40 hits played by a DJ. Many were encouraged to join in on games of corn hole and Jenga, too. Definitely the most fun you'll ever have at an interview.
WBUR claimed that over 2,000 resumes were submitted by Sunday night before the job fair started yesterday morning. If you're in the market for a new career, check out the job postings at Encore and at Big Night Entertainment and keep an eye out for the next job fair.
