Boston, MA - State police officers responded to a reported rape near the Carson Beach bath house early this morning, at 6 a.m.
According to state police, a woman claimed she was raped earlier this morning at 4:30 a.m. The rape reportedly happened near the Carson Beach bath house in South Boston. State police received calls from a passerby around 6 a.m. stating that a woman looked as if she was in distress. This is when they rushed to the scene to make sure she was taken care of with the proper medical attention.
After police arrived on scene, they started their preliminary investigation on the rape. According to reports, a group of local people gather around near the bath house on a daily basis. State police stated that this group of local people were, “most likely members of the homeless community.” According to the documentation provided regarding this group of people, state police claim it is highly likely that one of the men present in the group of people could have allegedly raped the woman this morning.
Once police officers spotted the woman, they rushed her to get proper medical attention as soon as possible. Emergency transporters came to bring her to the Boston Medical Center early this morning, where she remains hospitalized. According to the police, she is currently undergoing examinations to ensure no extensive physical harm has come to her body.
As of now, police officers and investigators are working hard to uncover the alleged rapist through witness reports and the victim’s statement. Police are working their way around the group of people who surrounded the area earlier this morning, at 6 a.m.
