BOSTON – To celebrate National Coffee Day, marked on the calendar as this Sunday, September 29, Dunkin' Donuts is introducing brand new drinks to their menus. And, frankly, they all sound extremely delicious.
First up is the Shakerato, which definitely has garnered the most attention from coffee cravers so far. Consisting of sugar, ice, foam, and two shots of espresso, I can definitely see the Shakerato catching on and becoming a thing, partly because of its simple construction and partly because of its catchy name.
Dunkin' Donuts is also introducing two other drinks, though. There is the new cafe au lait, which can be ordered as a hot beverage or a cold beverage, presumably depending on the season, but also on your own personal taste. It is a dark roast coffee which also features, as the name would suggest if you are familiar with French, steamed milk. Additionally, a cold brew latte has arrived to Dunkin' and it assuredly keeps things simple by offering a blend of milk and the cold brew.
Here's the catch, though. While Dunkin' Donuts will be participating in a "buy one coffee, get one free" deal on National Coffee Day, you may not be able to purchase the new drinks at any old location. These new drinks, which debuted on Wednesday, are exclusively available at Dunkin's new next generation stores, which first debuted in Quincy back in 2018.
Fortunately, while many next generation stores can be found across the country, there is a high concentration of them all throughout New England and especially in Massachusetts. Pittsfield, Westfield, Springfield, Holyoke, Leominster, Worcester, Groton, Hopkinton, Milford, Framingham, Lowell, Wilmington, Westwood, Roslindale, Dorchester, Everett, Bridgewater, Brockton, Taunton, Kingston, South Dennis, Boston (of course), and a few select others all have next generation Dunkin' Donuts locations in Massachusetts. Cities like Worcester and Boston have multiple locations.
They may be tough to come by in Kansas or Wyoming, but these new drinks at Dunkin' are just begging for you to try them!
