Spotted in Boston: Kevin Hart Films a New Movie in Boston, Goes for a Swan Boat Ride
BOSTON - Over the summer, Boston has been a popular city for extremely famous actors who are filming new movies. Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool), Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok), Joe Keery (Stranger Things), and Channing Tatum (21 Jump Street) were all seen hanging out around Worcester and Boston, Massachusetts over the summer as they filmed a new movie, Free Guy, about a non-playable video game character who gains sentience. From partying at night to taking in the local Worcester sights, it was cool to see actors take in the Massachusetts culture, even if it was only because their movie is set in the 1970s and the Worcester aesthetic has not developed past a nearly fifty year old era.
And now, another actor has been seen in Boston, enjoying the city and all that it has to offer.

Kevin Hart is one of the most popular comedic actors in the world and he has popped up in a number of high-grossing comedies over the years, including Central Intelligence and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. Most recently, Hart was embroiled in controversy over homophobic remarks he made that led to his ousting as the host of the 2019 Academy Awards. Also a prolific stand-up comedian, Hart seems to always stay busy with his career, which has now taken him to Boston.
While Hart once filmed the aforementioned Central in Boston, this new movie seems to be decidedly less humorous. Entitled Fatherhood and based on a true story, the film, slated for release in April 2020, is about a man who tries to raise his child in the wake of his wife's death. Not quite the laugh riot we are used to from Hart!
Regardless, Hart was filming the movie in Boston yesterday and will continue filming today before shooting wraps on the new film.
While in Boston, Hart decided to take in some of the culture Boston has to offer by sailing through the Boston Public Garden on a swan boat, photographs and videos of which were shared on Twitter by Kevin Slane.
Actors Alfre Woodard and Paul Reiser are also in the cast of the movie.
