VIDEO: Julian Edelman, Car Salesman?

VIDEO: Julian Edelman, Car Salesman?

Foxborough, MA– In terms of getting off to a good start in 2019, perhaps no one had a more exciting winter and spring than New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman. He completed his NFL comeback with a Super Bowl MVP trophy that began talk that he might one day be a Hall of Famer. Then, he made the rounds on talk show circuits, he got to visit Walt Disney World with Tom Brady, and he continues to attend some of the most high profile events in the country, including, most recently, the Met Gala.

But all good things must come to an end. Edelman's 2019 got off to such a rousing start that it could not help but come back down to earth. As fans have recently learned about Edelman's whereabouts and misadventures during the off-season, the star slot receiver threw away all of his winnings and money on "exotic haircuts and weird videos." Such a shame, but hey, it happens to the best of us. To see more about where Edelman is now, just check out the video.

Of course, it all seems to be in good fun, but through a canonical lens in these videos, Edelman is currently a car salesman for Prime Motor Group. This video is slated to be one of many in a series of Toyota commercials that are based in the mockumentary format. The joke is that we see Edelman trying to crack it as a car salesman after "losing all of his money." Obviously, Edelman is not the best at it (he's not necessarily the best actor either. Dustin Pedroia in the Sullivan Tires commercials comes to mind), but it is definitely funny to watch him trade quips and use the logic that someone who looks and acts like Edelman would definitely use.

My favorite part of the video came when Edelman suggested that a man buys a car to give him a commission and once the former receiver is fired, the man can return the car.

Maybe we will see Tom Brady pop up in a later advertisement in this series, but for now, I am entertained enough just watching Edelman's foibles.
