QUINCY, MA — An attempted bank robbery and a SWAT team negotiation resulted in the arrest of two suspects in Quincy Tuesday afternoon, police say.

Quincy police responded to an alarm at TD Bank on Adams St in West Quincy at approximately 11:00 am.

"There was one male suspect that alluded to a firearm and said that he was armed. He passed a note, money was exchanged, at that point he fled the bank. Our officers responded," Quincy Police Chief Paul Keenan stated during a press conference several hours  after the reported robbery. “After investigative efforts, we spotted the suspect (entering a house) on Loring Street near the corner… In the interest of caution, we surrounded the house. After making contact with the people inside, they both came out peacefully.”

According to Patch.com, the house belongs to the suspects’ girlfriend.

Police have charged one man with armed robbery and a woman with accessory after the fact. The suspects were expected to be arraigned Wednesday in Quincy District Court. As of this writing, the identity of the suspects has yet to be revealed.

Keenan said Quincy police expect to obtain a warrant to search the house for further evidence of the robbery. SWAT teams indicated the two suspects were the only ones inside after searching the residence. No other arrests appear to have occurred in conjunction with the robbery at this time.
