Lynn, MA - A man who was fatally shot and killed in Lynn, Massachusetts yesterday has been identified as Vannark Chourb by Lynn Police.

The Lynn Police Department received the call at approximately 10:45 p.m. late last night. The call led the police to the scene of the crime, at 43 Elm Street in Lynn. When they arrived on the scene, they found the 29-year-old man lying on the street, suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was identified today to be Vannark Chourb.

According to neighbors, they had heard about three to four gunshots and then two cars had immediately fled the scene. The neighbors did not have enough time to get license plate numbers and no further information regarding what the neighbors could identify has been released.

The 29-year-old that was shot had been pronounced dead at the scene. There is still a lot of unknown information regarding the incident. Reports do not state where the gunshot wound was nor do they say how long the man was lying on the street before help arrived.

According to the Essex County District Attorney’s Office, the investigation is ongoing. It is unclear if the gentleman had lived on the street or in the immediate area. The motive for the shooting is still unclear, especially considering no one has come forward to provide relative information regarding the case. Police have yet to release information regarding whether there are any suspects in question. No arrests have been made yet, or at least none have been made and brought to the public’s attention.

According to Lieutenant Michael Kmiec of the Lynn Police Department, the shooting will be investigated as a homicide, at least for now. No further information has been reported from the police or relative officials.
